Technology

How the walking floor works

The trailer floor is made of 13.5 m aluminium slats split into three groups. Hydraulics move them in sequence and the load walks out of the rear — no tipping. Such trailers are rare in Ukraine.

  1. 1

    All slats to the rear

All three slat groups move towards the rear doors together, carrying the load with them.

  2. 2

    Group one to the cab

One third of the slats slides back towards the cab; the other two thirds hold the load in place.

  3. 3

    Group two to the cab

The second third of the slats slides back the same way.

  4. 4

    Group three to the cab

The last group returns and the cycle repeats until the trailer is empty.

  • 4 m headroom is enoughTo unload inside a hangar or warehouse. A standard tipper needs 6–8 m.
  • No risk of tipping overThe body stays level — safe on uneven ground and under power lines.
  • Empty in 20–30 minutesCargo does not stick to the body and comes out completely.
  • 92 m³ per tripA large volume keeps the price reasonable for light cargo.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does a walking floor trailer hold?

The trailer holds 92 m³ with a payload of up to 23 t. For light cargo the limit is volume, for heavy cargo it is weight: about 15–16 t of dry sawdust or 21–23 t of wet wood chips.

How much does walking floor haulage cost?

Prices are individual and depend on distance, cargo weight and moisture, road quality, loading method and frequency. Routes under 100 km are charged at a fixed price per trip. Send a request and we will quote your route.

Can I hire a walking floor truck?

Yes — we provide the truck with a driver for your job: a single trip, regular collection from your site or scheduled deliveries to a boiler house. You pay for the haulage, not for idle equipment.

What should be used to load the truck?

The trailer side is 4 m high. A telehandler (Manitou, JCB, CAT) or a crane with a bucket works best; a standard wheel loader sometimes needs a ramp.

How fast does a walking floor trailer unload?

In 20–30 minutes, completely and without tipping. The moving floor pushes the load out of the rear, so nothing sticks inside.

Can you unload inside a warehouse or hangar?

Yes. The body does not tip, so 4 m of headroom is enough. A standard tipper needs 6–8 m.

What else do you haul besides wood chips and sawdust?

Grain waste, sunflower husk, bran, oilcake, meal, biomass, pellets, solid recovered fuel (SRF, RDF), waste paper, organic fertilisers, compost, big bags and palletised cargo.

Can you measure cargo moisture?

Yes, for grain waste: every truck carries a moisture meter, so moisture can be measured on the spot before loading.

Which regions do you cover?

Trucks are always available in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions. For regular work we also cover the Rivne, Volyn, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions. We also run trips to EU countries.

Do you haul abroad?

Yes. We hold an international haulage licence, have delivered to Poland and Romania and hold a BDO permit for waste transport.

Do you issue VAT invoices?

Yes, VAT invoicing is available. Any form of payment.
